Why don't you state whether or not you are here legally? The media has made a bad practice of not differentiating between the criminal illegals and the legal immigrants. People who are here illegally often label themselves as "immigrants" and the word no longer has the same meaning for everyone. People are fed up with anchor babies and I think we should adopt Ireland's policy - kick out the entire family, deny them an education, welfare, etc. You continually say "Latino" and to many people-especially with your accent - alienates you whether you intend to or not. My ancestors were Native American and European. I have no problem with people who come here legally and want to be American, however, I'm all for prosecuting illegals who think they are "stealing back their country" and refuse to speak English. They pull the race card every time someone points out a flaw in their twisted logic and demand rights they didn't earn. I have no pity for them or those who support them. They should be treated the same in the eyes of the law because they are traitors. Illegals only take and don't contribute anything but racism, crime, hatred, disease, and ignorance. If you are supporting them it could be why people are sending you hate mail

SeattleEd: those, like CM, who support illegal immigration count on most people not being familiar with the correct terminology as well as the code words that people like CM use. Once again: citizen and immigrant are disjoint sets. And, even if we assume that CM was telling the truth about the reporter asking her that question, what reporter would know that she even has kids? If a reporter did ask her that question, it was about CM's "community", which clearly includes illegal aliens. If you'd like to learn more about the NCLR, search for their name at my site. I just noticed that this is an NPR-produced video, so perhaps they might consider whether putting videos like this at the top of their site - with no opposing viewpoint provided except in comments - helps what little reputation they already have. And, since their mandate probably includes balanced coverage, I'd like to know exactly what the funding source for this was and who I should contact to complain.
