The state of Oregon where I am a court-appointed special advocate for children, strives to remove children from abusive parents and prepare them for healthy childhoods and lives. However, the Oregon legislature continually weakens Human Services' powers because those dimwits can't release their fascination with the antiquated "children as parents property" idea. Urge your local representative to allow abused children an escape and a chance at life.

I think "...the party that promises to .. to find a way..." is off the mark.

While your intentions are noble the parents of those girls made poor choices which is why their kids ended up the way they did. We have hundreds of thousands of kids in foster care and state run homes but there simply isn't enough "care" to go around. Expecting society to take care of these children just won't happen because people are constantly scrambling just to pay their bills. Taking care of someone else's child is not be something people should have to do because of bad parents. If you want my honest opinion I would like to know why we are tested before we drive, enter college, exit high school, etc, but no one is tested before they have a child? Some people really don't need to have kids and this would save society a lot of heartache and taxpayers money. Ultimately that's who the government passes the bill to anyway.
