McCain, best candidate for Command-in-Chief

Had a great afternoon in Springfield, VA attending a McCain ralley.  I have spent a lot of my spare time researching candidates.  No one has convinced me they can fix healthcare in this country.  Frankly, I don't think it is up the federal government to set up a federal healthcare system.  But I do believe some entity needs to do a better job of policing up the health management organizations.  They are the ones driving up the price of health care.

As a veteran of Viet Nam, the cold war,  the Gulf war and now the Global War on Terrorism, I want a Command-in-Chief that understands what it is like to be a soldier, airman, sailor, marine or coast guardsman.  I want someone making decisions who knows what it like to have to make an ethical decision and stick to it.  Senator McCain does know what it is like and has made the the ultimate ethical decision - it cost him 5 yrs in the Hanoi Hilton.....he was willing to step forward when he realized he made some poor investment decisions and admitted so before a senate hearing committee.  This is the type of political role model I want for my children and grandchildren.  And this is who I see making the best decisions in our drawdown from Iraq and later Afghanistan.  He does understand what is needed and he will not let Bush cabinet members tell him otherwise.  McCain is his own man.  He is not looking at President Bush's image in the rear view mirror or a side mirror.

Senator McCain has shown great bipartisanship in his many years as a public servant.  He will not stop as president of the United States.  He is what we need to heal this country.

I will not tell you how to vote, but I will tell you that I support Senator McCain for President and my Command-in-Chief.  I have thought long and hard on this, prayed and researched his voting record and that of his oponent.  Senator McCain is most worthy of this office.  And Cindy McCain is the most gracious and understanding servant as well.  She will be a very strong and diplomatic First Lady.  Sarah Palin is a gift to us - please let her prove she is worthy of being our vice president.  I truly believe she will be a strong supporter and secondary leader for all of us.

I urge you to vote for Senator John McCain and Governor Palin as our next President/Vice President.  Our service members need the experience and leadership of John McCain as the next Commander-in-Chief.

  • Some of my favorite presidents did not serve in the military--Abraham Lincoln, Bill Clinton. Perhaps one of yours is Ronald Reagan. I can understand how someone who has served would have a very strong attachment to military service, but this would be an emotional basis for the choice of president, not a reasoned one. Sen. McCain is not making wise decisions in this campaign--exaggerating and lying about Sen. Obama, wavering on the financial crisis being just two examples. It grieves me to see people believing his ads, rather than checking a variety of news sources. Good luck.
